The Voyager Flight Software System is a complete software system that makes flying safer and more enjoyable. Preflight, it will check the weather (a complete and legal briefing) and plan a wind-optimized, fuel-price optimized flight. In flight, it puts a tremendous amount of information at your fingertips in a way that's quick and easy to understand.
Voyager is modular so you can buy as many or as few features as you need and upgrade easily if your needs change. We sell packages tailored for VFR pilots, IFR pilots and for those who carry a tablet PC into the cockpit for in-flight use. You can also purchase each module separately, but most pilots begin with one of the complete packages.

Voyager FreeFlight is an absolutely free, easy to use, basic flight planning system. It's based on the full Voyager system and includes many of the features of the full system but leaves out other features such as on-screen fuel prices, export to GPS devices, high performance and high altitude planning, etc. Once you have Voyager FreeFlight installed, you can add functionality by buying and turning on various modules.
How does FreeFlight compare to the full product?
Voyager FreeFlight can be downloaded free of charge. Once downloaded and installed, Voyager FreeFlight may be upgraded to the full Voyager by the purchase of any module.

The easiest way to get Voyager in your cockpit is to get our new Voyager SkyPad device. For around $1,000 you get a powerful Tablet PC (running an aviation-optimized version of Microsoft Windows XP), all the Voyager software you need for in-flight and pre-flight use, a WAAS-enabled GPS and a full set of VFR and IFR charts and plates. We even pre-configure it for you personally so it's ready to fly when you open the box. Read more... Another great way to get Voyager into your cockpit is by using the new Bendix/King AV8OR ACE device. This standalone device includes a built-in GPS, a large and super-bright touchscreen and, best of all, comes pre-loaded with IFR Low Altitude, High Altitude and geo-references approach plates that Seattle Avionics supplies. Read more... Of course, given the wide variety of appropriate hardware and the excellent deals you can find at your local retailer or the Web, you can also find other great hardware to run Voyager on. For best in-cockpit use, we suggest a Tablet PC with 2 GB of RAM and a good video card. Voyager runs well with either Windows XP or Windows Vista but XP is faster and uses fewer computing resources so we suggest Windows XP. Voyager has been tested against the beta builds of Microsoft Windows 7 and also runs well on it (better than with Vista). You'll want to make sure that the tablet has a bright screen that can be read in sunlight (typical laptops do not have such a screen). This is often called a ViewAnywhere or Indoor / Outdoor display. And, if you're typically flying above 10,000 feet, you should use a device with a solid state disk drive as traditional spinning disk drives are only certified to 10,000 feet (pressure altitude) because they 'fly' on a cushion of air. Some common tablets are the Voyager SkyPad, the Fujitsu 1630 (a small device), the Fujitsu T2020 (larger size), the Dell Latitude XT2. The older Motion Computing LS 800 is also a good choice and can be purchased on eBay for a bargain (make sure to get the ViewAnywhere display). |
